Apethorpe says 'No to Nuclear Waste'

APETHORPE came out fighting following news that an appeal to dump radioactive nuclear waste in the nearby village of Kings Cliffe would be held in Corby.
Apethorpe residents filled their windows and houses with 'Radioactive Waste No Thanks' posters and banners to show our dissaproval at the plans.
The appeal runs from Tuesday October 26 in the Manor Suite, Holiday Inn, Corby at 10am for four weeks.
The posters around the village were displayed following a discussion at the last Village Meeting to show our view on the proposed plans to dump waste at the Augean site near Kings Cliffe.

No matter what the people say or want, the government will do exactly as it wishes.
I do not live in or near Apethorpe, but I am saddened that this lovely countryside,which I do know, is to be spoilt.Democracy is a sham in Britain, and public inquiries are simply a means of letting "the peasantry" let off steam. The powers that be just ignore them. MONEY TALKS !

The activities of the Village Meeting are formulated to deal with the maintenance of the Village/ Protection of the Conservation Area/ Liaison with Public and Statutory Organisations/ Conservation of the Environment/ Dealing with Planning Matters and matters of concern and interest to the residents of Apethorpe.

HOW WE MAKE OUR DECISIONS
Decisions are made at the Village Meetings against items placed on the agenda by Residents of the Village. Proposals are voted on in public meetings by Residents who are on the Electoral roll. Meetings are conducted in accordance with the published” Terms of Reference for the Apethorpe Village Meeting”
