Editor's Letter

"I've been away the last couple of weeks to Lesotho in Africa with a charity called Riders for Health. So if it has taken me a while to post some of your stories or you haven't had a response until now it's because we had no mobile reception and as far as I know WiFi hasn't hit deepest Maseru yet!
The charity I went out to see specialise in delivering aid to out of reach places using motorcycles and over the years I've done lots of work with them as part of my job as editor of Motorcycle News (MCN).

Life in Lesotho couldn't be more different to living in Apethorpe, but there are plenty of similarities. While my friends and colleagues were amazed by the night sky as there's no light pollution in the whole country, I was proud to tell them it's just like that where we live! And, the sense of community the villagers have in some of the most remote villages on earth rings true whether in Apethorpe or Lesotho.
Thankfully we have running water, are of good health, most of us have cars instead of using a Donkey or an Ox for our run to the corn mill.
If you would like to know more about the work Riders does, take a look here: www.riders.org
It's great to be back in our beautiful village getting ready for the run up to Christmas and I look forward to seeing you all over the Christmas period. Many thanks, Marc. "
